“We are very pleased to have everyone back on board for the 2009 DCI season”
added Tom Maiello, Director for the Raiders. “A good portion of our educational
staff has come from former members within the organization over the 18 year
history of the corps. I am very proud of that. We also have a few members of our
staff that have been with the organization for over 10 years. It again shows to
both our members and to the drum corps community that we have a very strong
organization, both on and off the field”
The organization will retain a majority of technicians, in each caption, from
the 2008 staff and are currently searching for additional techs to fill out the
staff.
In
addition to the returning staff members, the Raiders are excited to welcome
Gino Cipriani as a Brass Consultant for the 2009 Season. Gino is a valuable
addition to the Raiders instructional team as a result of his extensive
experience and successful career.
Mr. Cipriani received his Bachelor of Music Degree in Instrumental Education
from the University of Mississippi, where he studied trumpet performance under
the guidance of Dr. Charles Gates. He has extensive experience with multiple
musical and marching groups and has served in various capacities ranging from
consultant to adjudicator where he officiates throughout the country in both the
Bands of America (BOA) and US Scholastic Band Association (USSBA) marching band
circuits.
Gino Cipriani spent ten years, 1990 through 1999, as a brass instructor for the
ten-time World Champion Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps. He then took the
position as brass supervisor for the nine-time World Champion Cadets Drum and
Bugle Corps for the 2000 and 2001 season. In 2002 and 2003, Mr. Cipriani had the
honor to serve as the brass caption head and assisted in bringing Magic of
Orlando back to the field as a finalist after two years of inactivity. In 2004,
Gino held the brass caption head position for the six-time World Champion Santa
Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps. From 2001 to 2004, Mr. Gino Cipriani
headed, as well as consulted for, the brass section of the five-time DCA
Champion Syracuse Brigadiers. In 2007, he took the position as brass caption
head of the four-time DCA Champion Reading Buccaneers. In addition to his
consultant position with the Raiders, Gino Cipriani currently holds the position
of brass supervisor for the World Class Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps.
The Raiders organization is looking forward to working with Mr. Cipriani as he
joins them for the 2009 season.
2009 Raiders
Instructional Staff Openings
The Raiders Drum and Bugle Corps is expanding
their instructional staff for the 2009 season. Visual Caption Head, Joey Palumbo
and Brass Caption Head, Don Pfleger are currently recruiting techs for both of
their sections. This is a great opportunity to join a strong program as it
builds for the future.
Interested individuals should have some competitive drum & bugle corps or
marching band instructional experience. Please note the entire Raider
organization is 100% volunteer and has been since 1996. Throughout that time
they have been finalists eleven times and medalists twice, including one
division championship and are looking forward to an exciting season in 2009.
Raider’s director, Tom Maiello states: “With our continued success and growth,
the organization now finds itself in a very unique situation. We regularly offer
our graduating members an opportunity to become instructors with our
organization when they age out. Over the past few years, we have found it
necessary to bring additional staff on board, this year being no different. We
invite anyone interested in applying for the above positions, to submit a resume
today.”
Resumes for consideration can be submitted via email
to the corps director, Tom Maiello, at
tommaiello@raidersdbc.org.

Raiders Offer Leasing Options to All Corps
“I’d gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today”, remember that old saying?
Well, what if that same theory worked for your drum and bugle corps?
The Raiders Drum and Bugle Corps of Wayne NJ, is proud to announce a new
solution for many drum & bugle corps in the activity today. One of the biggest
challenges facing the activity has always been a lack of funds needed to acquire
new percussion equipment, brass instrument, uniforms and support equipment. Now,
there is a new avenue for your corps to look at.
In conjunction with Royal Bank America, the Raiders are now marketing Lease
Programs for RBA. Royal Bank America can offer your corps an opportunity to look
and sound better than ever. Instead of trying to raise a large amount of money
in a short period of time, RBA offers an exciting program to all corps looking
to add new equipment to their organization. Now instead of a one lump sum, you
can pay a monthly fee for all you new equipment; this also allows your corps to
free up other funds to help you run your daily operations such as touring and
housing. Think of the possibilities and freedom your corps can have when you
know you can focus on practice and recruiting, rather than dead end fundraisers
that don’t work.
The Raiders are the exclusive Partners with Royal Bank America in this venture
and are very excited about being able to offer this program to any and all
musical marching programs.
